Womp rat ballet

I was tanking the Rakata Prime flashpoint on hardmode and was trying to reset the bonus boss by running away. Of he course he didn't feel like it and sent more and more womp rats after me. Luckily our three sages could quake them down within seconds. It was only then that I noticed how the rats had positioned themselves around me as if it were a form of synchronized dancing.

Daydreaming about our new stronghold's planet

I'm a bit of a closet stronghold fangirl. At first, I hated the word 'stronghold' because I thought they should have been called apartments. (Okay, I still think they should. But now everyone is used to 'strongholds'.) Then, I was afraid they might turn out to be a huge money sink. By now I know they indeed are just that, but it's something I don't mind because it's nice to have an on-going project to work on.

In the spring we'll be getting a new stronghold. But what planet will it be on?

In which the Underlurker lurks no more and hardmode raid statistics are analyzed

I have been slacking with writing about our raid progression. Somehow I ended up writing about other things instead (the Blood Hunt FP post took a lot of my time in particular) and now I'm already two boss kills behind on schedule. I'll make up for it, though, by posting pretty videos of our takedowns.

My five favourite SWTOR bugs

Reading Shintar's screenshot challenge about bugs made me think of bugs in Star Wars: the Old Republic in general. I only recognized a small portion of the (sometimes hilarious) bugs she mentioned. I could think of so many more... which made me feel like it's a wonder the game is still playable. That said, most bugs are innocent. These are my five 'favourite':

Blood Hunt HM review: hardmode flashpoint is hard

I tried the new hardmode flashpoint Blood Hunt this weekend and thought it'd be fun to post a review here. Spoiler: it wasn't easy. Above the intrepid test team that bravely endured their faces getting splat into the ground more than once.

The mystery unveiled: how I ended up playing a shadow tank

If you visit this blog regularly, you might have noticed a mysterious mirialan lady wielding a double-bladed lightsaber appearing in the top banners (I have no idea if anyone actually looks at those, but let's presume you do). Seemingly, there are barely any Ravanels around anymore. And that after 2014 was the 'year of Ravanel'. What's going on?

How to make it to my KOS-list in 5 quick and easy steps

I was playing with my friend Marinka the other day and I thought it'd be fun to show her how PvP works. We queued for the baby lowbie bracket (level 10-29), so we would be up against other inexperienced players. Conrad joined as well. We went over our snipers' skills and I explained focus targeting. We barely had any skills at this low level but who cares, we were having fun.

On 'slow raiding' and disassembling two walkers

Some raid groups require their members to read up on tactics before turning up. This is an alien concept to me. My raid group on Imp side has the opposite attitude: we don't want to look up tactics, but rather want to figure them out by ourselves.

I'm so popular, everyone wants to play with me... right?

You know how it's customary for MMO players to come up with abbreviations for long titles? Expansions and raids often have long names yet are popular subjects of discussion, so nicknames come in handy. Well, guess with which one they came up for the new Ravagers raid...

Reflections on the Ravagers exploit

I am a bit surprised with the stern tone of the blogging community regarding the Ravagers exploit. Many people seem to think the sanctions weren't harsh enough. "We don't want to play with cheaters" is the general sentiment. I, however, think that the sanctioning was about right taking into consideration the precarious situation our devs had brought themselves into.
